Sampling Theorem
Verify that sampling frequency must be greater than twice the highest signal frequency
Real-World Applications
All digital audio systems are based on the sampling theorem. Audio CDs use 44.1kHz sample rate, covering more than twice the 20kHz upper limit of human hearing. Digital telephone systems use 8kHz sample rate, covering the 300-3400Hz voice range.
Experiment Steps
- Normal Sampling: No aliasing when fs > 2f
- Aliasing: False frequencies appear when fs < 2f
