Real-World Applications

WiFi 6/7 (up to 1024/4096-QAM), 5G NR, cable digital TV (DVB-C), fiber backbone networks. QAM is the main technology for pursuing extreme speeds, but the highest orders can only be enabled under excellent channel conditions (like being very close to the router).

Experiment Steps

  1. Constellation Density: Points become denser with higher order
  2. SNR Requirement: 256-QAM requires approx 30dB
